Direction point

Point along the zero line of excess temperature that is located outside a heated or cooled body at a distance from the body surface numerically equal to the ratio of the thermal conductivity coefficient of the body to the heat transfer coefficient.
Comment. The tangent to the curve of the temperature distribution in the body at a point in the surface of the body passes through the direction point.
