Stefan flow

Mass flux in a direction normal to a phase interface caused by a pressure difference in the gas mixture with an inhomogenous distribution of concentration of mixture components caused by the impermeability of the interface to some components of the mixture.

Comment. A surface is considered to be impermeable to some component also when the component condenses on, is absorbed by or chemically bound with the surface of the condensed (solid, liquid) phase.
