Change in the mechanism of heat transfer at the start of the transition from nucleate to film or film to nucleate boiling.
Comment. The transition from nucleate to film boiling is accompanied by a degradation of heat transfer; in the flow of a gas (vapor)-liquid mixture, the drying of the liquid film on a heated surface can also lead to the same effect.
